Alseyon 2019 update

After I redesigned Alseyon in 2015, I was ready to try and seriously market and run a publishing business based on spirituality and mediumship. But just before I could start, my art work came to life instead, and things changed. The path now led to Art.

Art is great and I love it, but I still needed an outlet for writing and helping people. I found that there were a lot of people with questions about spirituality and mediumship on Quora, so I started writing there every so often. It’s been a good outlet for me. I’m not the kind of person to keep a close count of traffic for my responses, but traffic grew. It has stabilized a bit, but even so, every time I see a notification about how many people saw my responses, I’m grateful and amazed, all at the same time. I really like helping people.

In the meantime, Alseyon sat vacant and unused, as I was involved with art and didn’t have the time or energy for it. Over the years that followed, I thought to shut it down several times, but when I remembered the effort it took to build it, I didn’t want to put the effort into tearing it down either. So it just sat.

In February 2019, my art life caused me to have to do something with Alseyon. I needed to make website hosting changes related to my art site which also happen to impact Alseyon. I thought this would be the opportunity to shut Alseyon down completely and just forget about it. But I decided not to, for multiple reasons.

First, the Internet offers a lot of free stuff. I’m not huge on free stuff, but like anyone else, I take advantage of it when the opportunity presents itself. Alseyon is a way for me to freely give something in return for the things so freely given to me. What goes around, comes around, in a positive way.

Second, there’s about 10 years of blog entries. There’s also info about the basics of Spiritualism and mediumship, most of which comes from a free book I wrote about the subject. It doesn’t matter how old the material is, it still retains value because a topic like spirituality and mediumship is timeless. I think it should be kept for people to use.

Third, while on Quora, when the topic is appropriate, I have referred people to Alseyon to learn about mediumship and spirituality.

The 2019 edition of Alseyon is a very simple, educational site. I hope you like the material that is here, and that you get something out of it.

Bullies in the Spirit World

Now I don’t go looking for trouble in the Spirit World. But there are times when it comes looking for me. Several nights ago, it did exactly that. I was sleeping, and during a dream-like state, a gray figure stepped out of the shadows. The figure was of an older Asian man, dressed in a kimono and looking like a stereotypical wizened Kung Fu master. He stepped up and attacked me. The exchange was very much like this bit of The Matrix, from 0:45 to 0:56. He was completely and utterly surprised, just like the agent, and ran away faster than fast.

Whether they’re in the Spirit World or on the Earth Plane, don’t let these people intimidate you, because that’s exactly what they want. When you stand up for yourself, you might find it much easier than you thought it would be. And when you’re successful, look at them and see them for what they are. Then send out prayers – that they learn from your experience with them, and that they become better people because of it.

Both the Earth Plane and Spirit World would be better off if we spent less time hating negativity, bullies, and the like, and spent more time sending prayers out for them. It may sound counterintuitive, but it makes perfect sense. Think about it – who needs more assistance and support to grow in a positive direction than these people?

3,500 years gone in an instant

“Respect your elders” is a common saying, even though you don’t hear people say it much any more. It’s supposed to mean that you should acknowledge that they have been around much longer than you, they are probably (or should be) wiser because of it, and you should respect them for it.

There is an elder who has been around for 3,500 years. Think about how long that really is. Before King Tut. Before the Trojan Wars. Before the Roman Empire. Before the Buddha and Confucius. Before Jesus and Christianity were even a thought. Before the Aztec and the Incas. Before King Arthur and Genghis Khan.

Here is the story about that elder, who was alive and well and still going strong, right up until yesterday. Fifth oldest in the world.

Elders are elders, not all of which are human. It’s important to acknowledge that we share this planet with many other forms of life, and we are no more, nor less, important than they. We should have respect.

The story says that this person is a model. I would agree with that. She is a model of disrespect. A model of the foolishness of meth. Certainly not a model of beauty, even if you correct the blemishes and baggy eyes in her picture. The ugliness goes deeper than that.

And one should not be so proud to disrespect their elders.

Welcome to Joe’s Blog

I’ve always had an interest in things-spiritual, and after careful consideration over several months, I think a blog is in order, focused on things-spiritual. What kind of things? Mediumship (spirit communication) and spiritual development. There’s plenty of material here on to give you a better understanding of mediumship and Spiritualism, including the book I wrote called Spiritualist Basics. You’ll also find some history about me, if you wish to know. In any event, I hope you enjoy reading this blog as much as I plan to enjoy writing it.
